Shimano Fishing New Zealand is excited to announce the release of the new Saragosa SW range of salt water rated spin reels. The Saragosa SW has had a substantial overhaul and now features many of the components that are also found in the top-of-the-line Shimano Stella SW family.

Encased in a hybrid aluminum and XT7 graphite body with an XGT7 rotor, Shimano's legendary X-Ship bearing supported pinion gear and larger drive gear delivers remarkable cranking power with less effort and a smoother feel. X-Shield and X-Protect keep salt water out of key areas, whilst the cross carbon drag is also waterproof. In fact, the Saragosa SW range is capable of delivering between 10 and 20kgs of usable drag depending on model.

A one piece bail arm assembly smoothly guide the line to the roller, Shimano's Cam Oscillation system combines with the AR-C spool to ensure that braided line, such as, Power Pro or Suffix 832 lays neatly on the retrieve without creating dips or troughs and leaves the spool with less resistance when casting for distance and accuracy.

The Shimano Saragosa SW 14000 AXG Spinning Reel incorporates top tier Shimano technologies such as X-Protect, X-Ship, Hagane Body and Hagane gear into its lightweight compact body. The newly designed compact body has been engineered to reduce the weight across the entire series, improving the reels handling and balance. Drawing upon the Stella SWC, Infinity Drive is included and provides improved pinion gear support which translates to greater and smoother cranking power. The X-Protect water resistance system improves the line roller durability to an IPX8 standard, and the super strong Cross Carbon Drag system keeps the fight in your favour. Built for big fish in extreme conditions, the Saragosa SWA will continue to push the boundaries.

By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with our S-ARB bearings and integrating a bigger drive gear, Shimano increased the gearing efficiency and power. This results in a fishing reel with ultra-light handle rotation; less effort and power giving a perfect rotation even under heavy loads.

AR-C SPOOL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Through tens of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations it has been determined that this new AR-C spool lip design provides longer casting distances than a standard spool lip design while preventing backlashes and wind knots from forming. It also allows the line to flow off the spool in smaller loops during the cast, which means less slap on the stripper guide. This means longer casts with less friction.
