Reel Covers

A reel cover should always be used on the reel when vessel is steaming as this is when most damage is done as if the rod is left in the side rod holders while steaming the water is driven in by force around the spool, and after a month or so from making this mistake, you will start to hear bearing noises, and have to have your reel serviced, cleaned and bearings replaced. A reel cover saves this i nconvenience and expense. And when home, remove covers, as the reels will sweat in them and also cause problems. So remember when to use them, and when not to.
