Kreha, the Japanese manufacturer was the originator of fluorocarbon line and currently hold a number of world patents for this line.  Fluorocarbon line is a true innovation to fishing, it has a light refractive index very close to that of water so when it is placed in water, fish cannot distinguish it from the surrounding water thus becoming invisible!  Seaguar also has these qualities - abrasion resistant, UV resistant, high tensile strength, does not absorb water which can reduce 30% of line strength.
